They Flew Alone

In a film based on a true story, Amy Johnson (Anna Neagle), a female aviator, draws international notice for her record-breaking solo flights. But as she garners fans around the world, she loses the affections of her husband, Jim Mollison (Robert Newton), a pilot who fears his own accomplishments are overshadowed by those of his heralded wife. As their marriage deteriorates, Johnson -- fearless flyer that she is -- bravely joins the war effort in the Air Transport Auxiliary.
