Othello 1922
In this silent version of the Shakespeare play, military ensign Iago (Werner Krauss) chafes upon learning that Gen. Othello (Emil Jannings) has appointed a younger man, Cassio (Theodor Loos), as his lieutenant. Further offended to discover that Othello, a dark-skinned Moor, has secretly married Desdemona (Ica von Lenkeffy), the daughter of a senator, Iago plots revenge.
