Hindle Wakes

A lowly mill girl becomes romantically involved with the boss's son while on holiday in Blackpool. She tries to hide it from her interfering parents by saying she spent the time with a female friend, but when her friend dies in a car accident, she is forced to admit the shameful affair to her folks.
