Historian Neil Oliver traces the history and development of Britain from 1000 B.C. to A.D. 400. The programme documents how thriving Britain became part of the Roman empire during the Iron Age and how Celtic communities survived around the fringes of the island. It also examines how a new Romano-British culture emerged from the struggle for Britannia.
