Lichenology

Lichenology is the branch of mycology that studies the lichens, symbiotic organisms made up of an intimate symbiotic association of a microscopic alga with a filamentous fungus. Study of lichens draws knowledge from several disciplines: mycology, phycology, microbiology and botany.
