Taiping

Taiping

Taiping is a town in northwest Malaysia. It's known for its well-preserved colonial architecture. Taiping Lake Gardens, a public park with angsana trees and a lotus pond, was established in 1880 on the site of an old tin mine. Nearby, Taiping Zoo breeds endangered species such as the Malayan tiger. The Perak Museum displays indigenous crafts, tribal artifacts and animal skeletons in a 19th-century building.
