The Edmonton Oilers are a professional ice hockey team based in Edmonton, Alberta. They are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League. The Oilers were officially founded in 1971 by W. D. "Wild Bill" Hunter and Dr. Chuck Allard.
